ATTENTION: The
Commission will begin using metal detectors at our
regional hearing rooms on the following dates:
Beltsville August 28, 2023
Abingdon September 5, 2023
Frederick September 11, 2023 La Plata
September 25, 2023 Cambridge
September 28, 2023
Under current policy, no weapons of any kind or anything
that can be used as a weapon may be brought onto the
Commission premises. All briefcases, backpacks, purses,
etc. are subject to screening. Those with pacemakers and
other implantable devices, or those who have a medical
condition that should avoid screening through metal
detectors should inform the security officer and they
will be subject to manual screening. This includes those
in wheelchairs. Only police officers will be allowed to
bring their weapon onsite. All others will be required
to take the item off the premises. Attorneys should
notify their clients and attendees of the new screening
process. Please plan to arrive a little earlier to allow
sufficient time for screening. As we strive to ensure a
safe and secure hearing process, the Commission
appreciates your patience as we institute new measures.

Attention attorneys and
paralegals: If you tried a case before the
Commission between August 7 - August 24, please keep a
log of those cases and verify that you have received
orders on all of them. Please check our system for the
orders as the new system was not issuing any e-notices
that orders were being sent out until that function was
fixed yesterday. |

CompHub Users –
Helpful Hint:
Please note if you receive a message that there is an
action pending or an open case, it means that
someone has started the same process with the same claim
number and didn’t complete it. You can confirm by
checking with the attorney or proxy to see if there is a
task in their inbox related to that process and claim.
Check your inbox regularly for tasks that you have
started but did not complete. If you are not going to
submit the task, they should be cancelled. For Claim at
a Glance, the cancel is located at the bottom of the
task with Save & Submit. For all other tasks, it is
located on the right side panel under your initials and
the case number in the “Events” section.
Please remember to send all questions or issues to
comphubsupport@wcc.state.md.us. Also, on this home
page is a link to numerous educational material and
videos on the CompHub processes. These materials are
also available via the CompHub landing page through the
Knowledge Center link at the top of the page. They are
filed in the Knowledge Center by topic. |

The Commission is excited to officially roll out our
next-generation claims management system, CompHub, on
Monday, August 14, 2023! If you have the opportunity,
please take a few minutes and log into the training
environment to familiarize yourself with CompHub and its
features. On Monday, 8/14/23, after 8 am, you will be
able to log into CompHub using your WFMS credentials. If
you did not have a WFMS account, then you will need to
register as a CompHub Subscriber. There is a button on
the CompHub landing page which will take you to the
Registration process. On the landing page there is also
a knowledge center with instructional materials to guide
you through using CompHub. We may not have an
instructional tool for every process but they all start
the same way with “Start New Action” unless you are
completing a task that has been sent to your CompHub
Inbox. The Knowledge Center will be updated as new
information becomes available. If you have questions
or concerns, please feel free to contact
Comphubsupport@wcc.state.md.us. After August 14, you
may also call 410-368-0992 during business hours where
we will be glad to assist you. During the first month of
using CompHub, the Commission will print and mail paper
copies to users as well as send emails with links to the
document in CompHub. This is to ensure that all
electronic mail is getting through to our users. We know
that it will take some time to get used to using CompHub
but we hope you enjoy its enhanced features.

ATTENTION E-NOTICE
SUBSCRIBERS As the Commission has published,
the WFMS system will be shut down on Wednesday around 4
pm. No one will be able to access the system during the
shutdown. Some processes at the Commission do have
overnight printing and the E-notices are generated
during this process. Anything that is processed on
Wednesday by the Commission that would generate an
E-notice will still generate that email. However, you
will not be able to use the email link after 4 pm.
Therefore, any notice/automatic order that is generated
after 4 pm will be sent to the claim file but you will
not be able to use the link included in the email to
access that document. Please keep track of the E-notice
emails that you may receive so that you can check the
claim file in CompHub on Monday, 8/14. We apologize for
this inconvenience but this allows a minimal of downtime
for the system during the migration process. The
Commission will not be issuing any orders or E-notices
after Wednesday night until the system goes live. It is
our intention to process everything that is received on
Wednesday until 4 pm. It will take several days through
the weekend to migrate the data and claim files over to
the new system. On Monday, you should check the claim
file (in CompHub) for any email that you received on
Wednesday evening. The email subject should tell you the
claim number and what the notice is.
